Why this podcast?

Smart true crime.

I’m a true crime addict. And it runs in my family. My dad, my mom, and my sister love true crime. I think part of it is the puzzle. The other part is the psychology. How does a sweet baby turn into a cold-blooded killing machine? Is it nurture or nature?

I’ve always wanted a true crime podcast. But I didn’t want it to be like any other true crime podcast. It had to serve a purpose. It had to help others. It had to be smart.

And then I watched the story of Kay Weden (our first outline), a sweet lady who lost her mom and new boyfriend to the most unlikely killer. And when everyone else saw the truth, she just couldn’t because “you don’t do those things to those you love.” And it hit me.

Why not break down the murders and extract valuable information from the story that will help others not to be victims? Because when you’re in a relationship, you don’t always see the red flags. Or if you’re a naturally trusting, good person, you don’t always recognize danger lurking behind the smiling face.

And as far as I know, this is the only podcast hosted by a mom and her two daughters.
